A dramatic gorge, further along the coast
Saklıkent Gorge sits west of Antalya, nearer Fethiye, and is one of the deepest and most dramatic canyons in the region — a narrow limestone gorge you can walk into, with a glacial-fed stream running through it that stays cold even in peak summer. It's further out than most day trips on this list, but genuinely worth it if canyons and cooler outdoor activity appeal.
What a visit involves
Planning your visit
- Distance: around 2.5–3 hours from central Antalya — a genuinely long day if done as a there-and-back trip.
- Best combined with: a wider trip toward Fethiye/Kaş, rather than a standalone Antalya day trip, given the distance.
- Footwear: water shoes or sandals with good grip; you'll be wading over slippery rock.
- What to bring: a dry bag for valuables if you're going in beyond the entrance platforms.
