Paragliding above the Turquoise Coast

The stretch of coast around Kemer and Olympos, southwest of Antalya, is one of Turkey's best-known paragliding areas — tandem flights launch from Tahtalı Mountain (Olympos Teleferik), which rises dramatically straight up from the sea, giving pilots a genuinely spectacular combination of altitude and coastline on a single flight.

How a tandem flight works

Launch point
Flights typically launch from near the top of Tahtalı Mountain, reached by cable car, at well over 2,000m — one of the highest paragliding launch points on this coast.
The flight itself
A tandem flight (you're harnessed to a licensed pilot, no experience needed) typically lasts somewhere from 20 to 40 minutes depending on conditions and package, descending toward the coast below.
No experience required
Tandem flights need no prior paragliding experience — the pilot does the flying and steering; you're along for the view.
Weather dependent
Flights depend on wind and weather conditions and can be postponed or cancelled at short notice — build some flexibility into your schedule if this is a priority.

Planning a flight

  • Booking: tandem flights are typically booked through licensed operators based around Kemer and Olympos; your hotel or a local tour desk can usually arrange this, or you can book directly with an operator in advance.
  • Getting there: Tahtalı Mountain sits west of Antalya near Kemer, roughly 45 minutes to an hour from the city centre — most packages include transport from your hotel in the Kemer/Antalya area.
  • What to wear: comfortable closed shoes and layers — it's noticeably cooler at altitude than at sea level, even in summer.
  • Cost factors: flight length, photo/video packages and transport inclusions all affect price — confirm exactly what's included before booking.
Our take: if you're based in Kemer or planning a day that direction anyway, this is a genuinely memorable half-day add-on — just keep your schedule flexible around it in case of a weather postponement.
