The Tahtalı flight is the Antalya classic
For the most dramatic Antalya-area tandem flight, the headline launch is Tahtalı Mountain above Kemer. Olympos Teleferik's current activity information places the take-off at the 2,365-metre summit and describes tandem flights descending toward the Mediterranean with views across Beydağları National Park, the coast and Phaselis.
This matters because older guides sometimes describe "Antalya paragliding" as one generic product. It is not. The provincial tourism directorate also lists flying around Kaş and Alanya. If you are staying in central Antalya or Kemer and want the high-mountain-to-sea experience, Tahtalı is the relevant option; if you are based much farther west or east, another licensed local flight may make more logistical sense.
Book the operator, not just the photo
At Tahtalı, Olympos Teleferik currently identifies ESCAPE as its tandem-paragliding partner. Its published information says the operator is a TÜRSAB Group A travel agency and authorised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for sports/adventure tourism. That is the sort of credential trail I want to see before paying.
Do not reduce the safety check to a star rating. Ask who the operating company and pilot are, what current passenger restrictions apply, what insurance/authorisation is included, how weather cancellation is handled and whether the cable-car ticket, hotel transfer, photos or video are separate costs.
What the experience actually involves
I have deliberately removed the old fixed "20–40 minute" promise from this guide. Airtime varies with conditions and the operator's current product; get the present figure directly with your booking rather than treating an inherited blog estimate as a guarantee.
Check passenger limits before you travel to the mountain
Paragliding companies can apply current limits for age, weight, pregnancy, recent surgery, mobility and medical conditions. Those rules can change by operator and conditions, so I would not publish one universal number here. If any restriction could affect you, ask the actual operating company before buying a transfer or cable-car component.
You also need to be able to follow the pilot's launch and landing instructions. Closed shoes with secure footing are a much better idea than sandals; bring a layer because the summit can feel very different from sea level even when Kemer is hot.
Give weather the power to cancel your plan
This is the part adventure sellers cannot market away. The official Tahtalı material says flights operate under meteorological control. A cancellation is frustrating, but it is evidence that conditions are being treated as a safety decision rather than a customer-service inconvenience.
For that reason, do not book this on your last few hours before an airport transfer. Put it early enough in the Kemer/Antalya portion of the trip that a postponement is survivable. Have a fallback such as Phaselis, a Kemer coast day or simply the cable-car summit if conditions and tickets allow.
Getting there without turning it into a transport puzzle
Tahtalı is in the Kemer direction, west of Antalya city. If you are staying in Kemer, Tekirova or nearby resort areas, the trip fits naturally. From central Antalya or Lara, allow for the road transfer as part of the day rather than treating the flight as a quick city-centre activity.
Before paying, confirm these five items in writing:
- pickup point and approximate transfer window;
- whether the Olympos Cable Car ascent is included;
- what happens financially if weather cancels the flight;
- current passenger eligibility restrictions;
- photo/video policy and whether personal cameras are permitted.
What about Kaş or Alanya?
Antalya Province has more than one paragliding zone. The Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism specifically describes established flying around Kaş, the Tahtalı/Kemer coast and Alanya. That is useful if your holiday base is nowhere near Kemer. I would choose the flight that fits your route rather than spending half a day driving past a perfectly suitable licensed operation just because one launch is more famous online.
Whichever zone you choose, the same rule applies: verify the actual operator, current launch/landing plan, passenger limits, weather policy and transport inclusions.
Is Tahtalı worth building a day around?
If you actively want a tandem flight, yes — the 2,365-metre summit beside the Mediterranean makes the geography unusually memorable. If you are merely trying to add an "adrenaline" checkbox to a packed Antalya itinerary, I would skip it. Weather flexibility and the transfer mean this experience works best when you give it space.
