Antalya Airport (AYT) is one of the busiest in Turkey and one of the best-connected in the Mediterranean during the warmer months, with both scheduled and charter flights arriving from across Europe. How you book, and when, makes a real difference to price — here's how it breaks down.

Many major and budget airlines run direct seasonal or year-round routes from the UK, Ireland, Germany and other European countries, especially April through October when demand peaks.

Connecting via Istanbul

Turkish Airlines and Pegasus both run extensive networks through Istanbul's airports, which can open up routes from cities without a direct Antalya service — especially useful outside peak season, when direct routes thin out.

Seasonal charter routes

A large share of Antalya's flight capacity is seasonal charter and leisure-airline routes tied to the swim season — these can offer good value but often run on a narrower schedule than full-service carriers.

Low-cost carriers typically serve Antalya well in peak season; comparing both budget and full-service options, plus connecting itineraries, is worth the extra few minutes before booking.

When to book

Prices generally track the same seasonal pattern as the rest of the trip: peak summer (June–August) sees both the most route choice and the highest prices, while shoulder-season flights (April–May, September–October) tend to combine good availability with better value. Booking a few months ahead of peak-season travel is the safest way to get a reasonable fare and a convenient flight time; last-minute peak-summer fares can run considerably higher.

If you're flying from a major UK, Irish or European city, it's worth checking both direct seasonal routes and connecting options via Istanbul before settling on a booking — route availability shifts from year to year, so a route that didn't exist last season may well be running now, or vice versa.
