Antalya covers the full range of shopping, from small Kaleiçi shops selling ceramics and textiles to large modern malls with international brands. What you're looking for should decide where you go — they're genuinely different experiences.

Kaleiçi's lanes
Ceramics, textiles, leather goods, jewellery and souvenirs in small independent shops — gentle bargaining is normal and expected here.
Local markets (pazar)
Neighbourhood markets rotate through the week across different districts, selling fresh produce, spices, textiles and household goods at local prices.
Shopping malls
Antalya has several large modern malls with international and Turkish fashion brands, electronics and food courts — useful for anything practical or air-conditioned relief in summer.
Manavgat market
One of the larger regional markets, worth timing a Side or Manavgat day trip around if your dates line up.
What's worth buying
- Turkish textiles & towels (peştemal): lightweight, well-made, and genuinely useful rather than just decorative.
- Ceramics: particularly from Kütahya and İznik-style workshops, sold widely in Kaleiçi.
- Spices & Turkish delight: good value and easy to pack; buy from a shop with visible turnover rather than the first tourist-trap stall.
- Leather goods: quality varies significantly — check stitching and material before committing to a higher-priced item.
Bargaining etiquette
In small independent shops and markets, gentle bargaining is normal and often expected — starting at 20–30% below the asking price and meeting in the middle is a reasonable approach, done with good humour rather than aggression. In malls and chain stores, prices are fixed as they would be anywhere else.
Our take: buy textiles and ceramics in Kaleiçi where you can see the workshop or vendor directly, rather than at the airport on the way home — both selection and prices are better in town.
