Antalya can flex to almost any budget
Antalya spans everything from backpacker guesthouses to five-star all-inclusive resorts, and unlike some Mediterranean destinations, keeping costs down here doesn't mean missing out — a lot of the best things to do (the old town, the beaches, the clifftop parks) are free or close to it.
Free or nearly free
Kaleiçi old town
Walking the lanes, seeing Hadrian's Gate and the Yivli Minare, and exploring the harbour costs nothing beyond what you spend on food and drink.
Karaalioğlu Park
Clifftop gardens with some of the best views in the city, free to enter and a favourite spot with locals as well as visitors.
Public beach access
Both Lara and Konyaaltı have free public stretches alongside their paid beach clubs — you don't need to pay for a sunbed to swim.

Free to view from the clifftop park, versus paying for a boat trip to see it from the water.
Where costs add up fastest
- Organised tours: convenient, but the same day trip is often cheaper arranged as a taxi-for-the-day split among a group, or self-driven with a rental car.
- Harbourside restaurants in Kaleiçi: a street or two back from the water, prices for genuinely good food drop noticeably.
- Airport currency exchange: rates are typically worse than in the city — exchange only what you need for the transfer, then change more once settled.
- Peak-season accommodation: July–August prices run well above shoulder-season rates for the same room; see our best time to visit guide for the value-focused months.
Practical money-saving tips
Use the tram & dolmuş
Far cheaper than taxis for routine trips to the beach or airport, once you're comfortable with the routes.
Travel shoulder season
April–May and September–October combine lower prices with still-swimmable weather.
Eat where locals eat
Lokanta a block or two off the main tourist streets serve the same (often better) food for noticeably less.
Carry some cash
Card acceptance is good in tourist areas but small shops, markets and some dolmuş routes still work better with cash on hand.
Our take: the single biggest budget lever is timing — shifting a trip from August to late September or May can cut accommodation costs substantially while barely changing the weather you get.
