Antalya after dark
Nightlife here splits fairly cleanly by area: Kaleiçi's harbour and lanes lean toward relaxed bars, live music and meze-and-rakı evenings, while the big resort strips (Lara, Belek) run their own in-house entertainment geared toward hotel guests. Neither is "better" — they're different trips.
Where to go, by mood
The old harbour
Bars and restaurants stacked along the marina, many with live music — a good early-to-mid-evening scene with a view.
Kaleiçi's back lanes
Smaller, quieter bars tucked into old-town courtyards, generally more relaxed and less touristy than the harbourfront.
Resort entertainment
Lara and Belek's big hotels run their own nightly shows, themed bars and pool parties — convenient if you don't want to leave the property.
Konyaaltı beach clubs
Some beach clubs along the promenade extend into the evening with music and cocktails, without the full club scene.
What to know
- Rakı culture: the classic Turkish night out revolves around meze and rakı (an aniseed spirit mixed with water) rather than cocktails — worth trying at least once at a proper meyhane (tavern-style restaurant).
- Dress codes: casual is fine almost everywhere in Kaleiçi; some resort venues and a handful of upscale spots expect smarter dress in the evening.
- Ramadan: during Ramadan, some smaller local venues adjust hours or atmosphere — tourist-area bars and resorts generally continue as normal. See our public holidays guide.
- Getting back: taxis and ride-hailing apps run late in the main tourist areas; agree a price or confirm the meter before getting in.
Our take: for a genuinely local evening, skip the harbourfront and find a meyhane a few streets back in Kaleiçi — better food, better prices, and a much more Turkish evening than the marina bars.
