Why take a boat trip from Antalya

Antalya's old harbour, right at the base of Kaleiçi, is the departure point for half-day and full-day boat trips along the coast — and it's genuinely the best way to see the Lower Düden Falls, where the river drops straight off a cliff into the sea, from the angle that actually shows off the scale.

What a typical trip looks like

The Lower Düden Falls
Most coastal boat trips swing past the base of the falls — the best view of them anywhere, better than the clifftop viewpoint.
Swimming stops
Many trips include one or more stops in quiet coves for swimming, away from the busier city beaches.
Sunset trips
A popular variant departing later in the day, timed to be on the water as the sun sets over the Beydağları mountains.
Onboard facilities
Most boats have music, a bar and sun deck — these are as much a social, relaxed-afternoon activity as a sightseeing trip.

Choosing a trip

  • Half-day vs full-day: half-day trips typically cover the falls and a swim stop; full-day trips range further along the coast and usually include lunch.
  • Group size: boats range from larger party-style vessels to smaller, quieter charters — decide which atmosphere you want before booking, as they're quite different experiences.
  • Where to book: operators sell directly from stalls around the old harbour, or you can book ahead through your hotel or a tour platform — walking down and comparing in person the day before is a common, low-risk approach.
  • What to bring: swimwear, a towel, sun protection and a dry bag for your phone if you're planning to swim.
Our take: a sunset trip is the pick if you only do one — you get the falls, usually a swim stop, and end the day with the best light on the water, right as you're winding down anyway.
