What Belek is really like
Belek is Antalya's purpose-built golf and all-inclusive resort zone, east of the city and close to Antalya Airport. It is not the place to book if your dream is stepping out into Ottoman lanes and independent cafés every morning. Its strength is the opposite: large beachfront resorts, landscaped grounds, serious sports facilities and an unusually dense concentration of championship golf courses.
GoTürkiye continues to position Belek as the centre of Turkish golf, with major courses and tournaments returning in 2026. The resort strip also sits beside The Land of Legends, making Belek especially practical for families building a holiday around resort facilities plus one or two big-ticket attraction days.
Who should stay in Belek?
- Golfers: this is the obvious Antalya-region base. Courses are close together and many hotels build golf logistics into the stay.
- All-inclusive families: strong choice if pools, kids' clubs, beach access and on-site dining matter more than street life.
- Land of Legends visitors: easier than commuting repeatedly from central Antalya.
- City-break travellers: usually a poor fit. Kaleiçi, Lara or Konyaaltı make more sense if you want Antalya city every day.
Why golfers choose Belek
Belek's golf offer is not marketing fluff. GoTürkiye's 2026 material highlights courses including Carya, Olympos, Aspendos, Faldo and National, and the region regularly hosts international amateur and professional events. Several courses are only minutes apart, and some offer floodlit night golf. If golf is the main reason for the trip, compare hotel-course partnerships and tee-time packages before choosing a resort purely on room price.
Beach and resort style
Most visitors experience Belek through their hotel rather than a traditional town centre. Beachfront resorts line the Mediterranean behind landscaped grounds and pine vegetation. The beaches are generally easier for a classic resort holiday than Kemer's smaller pebble coves, while the overall atmosphere is quieter and more self-contained than Antalya city.
That self-contained layout is a benefit only if it matches your trip. A cheaper inland hotel can become false economy if you spend every day paying for taxis to a beach club, golf course or attraction.
Airport, Antalya city and getting around
Belek is roughly 30–40 minutes from Antalya Airport in normal traffic and commonly around 40–50 minutes from central Antalya, although summer traffic can stretch both. Pre-booked resort transfers are common. Taxis are straightforward for one-off trips; a rental car becomes more useful if you want Perge, Aspendos, Side or multiple independent day trips.
Do not plan Belek as if it were an Antalya suburb. A single evening in Kaleiçi is easy enough, but commuting into the city every day wastes the main advantage of staying here.
Land of Legends logistics
The Land of Legends complex is in the Belek/Kadriye area. Some resorts offer transport or packages, but inclusions vary enormously and can change. Confirm the exact current benefit with the hotel before booking; do not assume a Belek room automatically includes park admission.
When Belek works best
Summer is built around beach and pool time. Spring and autumn are particularly attractive for golf and outdoor sightseeing because daytime heat is easier to manage, while golf continues through much of winter. Resort facilities, water parks and entertainment programmes can be seasonal, so winter travellers should verify what is actually operating at their chosen hotel.
