Lower Düden Falls: Is the Boat Trip Worth It?

3 min read Updated August 2026

The Lower Düden Falls drop straight off a cliff into the Mediterranean, and there are two completely different ways to see that happen: standing on the clifftop above, or looking back at the cliff from a boat on the water.

The clifftop viewpoint

Free, quick, and easy to combine with a Lara Beach day, since it sits right along that stretch of coast. You get a good angle down onto the top of the falls and out along the coastline, but you don't get the full sense of scale of water meeting sea.

The boat trip view

Half-day boat trips from the old harbour swing past the base of the falls, and this is genuinely the better angle — looking up at 40 metres of water arcing off the cliff face is a different experience entirely from looking down on it. It's not a dedicated Düden Falls trip, though; it's one stop on a broader coastal cruise.

Our take

If a boat trip is already on your list, you'll get the better view for free as part of it. If it's not, the clifftop viewpoint is still worth a quick stop — just go in knowing it's the secondary angle, not the postcard shot.
